Kamogawa is an area where sardine fishing has been actively carried out and cotton to become fabric and dye indigo to be a dye As a fertilizer for cultivation, sardine was used.


In the background that Maiwai flourished in the Boso Peninsula, the cotton that is the fabric and the dye of indigo dye Aitama had a deep involvement with the sardines themselves.  The sardine that dried the sardines became efficient fertilizer, and the productivity of crops such as cotton and indigo balls increased dramatically. Besides that, the fact that indigo balls were easily delivered to the Kuroshio from the Awa area in Tokushima Prefecture, which was the main production area of ​​good quality indigo at the time, is also advantageous for the Boso celebrations in the northern limit of the Kuroshio region It was a point.


Flourishing The most popular tourist spot in Kamogawa is Kamogawa Seaworld. We are developing an environment close to the natural sea, and you can see the appearance of various sea creatures as they are. Kamogawa Seaworld is particularly popular with shows such as sea lions, dolphins, white whales and killer whales. Especially the killer whale show is said to be the best in Japan.
